Frequently Asked Questions
About GRAND OAKS!

What is the purpose of Grand Oaks? See our “About Us" page.

Does Grand Oaks provide food service? Grand Oaks provides food service for summer camps and a few other specific events only. Other rental groups need to make arrangements for food preparation or catering. Our Dining Hall has a large commercial kitchen that can be rented in the off season months. The Retreat Center has a “home style kitchen” available in it. The Old Lodge has a small “kitchenette” in it. There are several options for catering events in Chillicothe. Please call the camp manager for a list of possibilities.

Does Grand Oaks provide bedding and linens? No, guests need to bring all such personal items.

Are non Baptist groups allowed to use Grand Oaks? Yes, the facilities are made available to most any group that is not in opposition in purpose to our beliefs and purpose as a ministry. When there is any question about the matter, groups are asked to sign and affirm a basic statement of faith outlining basic Christian beliefs.

Are there any restrictions on activities or a dress code? Smoking is not allowed in any of the buildings and discouraged, but not banned, outdoors. Alcoholic beverages of any type are not allowed. Neither are firearms, fireworks or illegal drugs. There is no official “dress code” except at the pool where modest dress is encouraged and wearers of two piece suits or other overly revealing suits are asked to wear a dark T-shirt over them.
